May 17, 2005Lac La Biche businessman named new chair of Portage College
Edmonton... Brad Musat, a Lac La Biche businessman and active community member, is the new chair of Alberta's Portage College.
Dave Hancock, Minister of Advanced Education and Technology, made the appointment on May 17. Musat is taking over from outgoing chair Thomas Lett, whose appointment expired on April 9. Lett has served as chair since 1999.
"Brad's experience in business and community work, including involvement at Portage College, makes him a perfect fit for this position," said Hancock. "The dedication he has shown to his community is a good indication of the excellence and enthusiasm he will bring to his new role as chair. His leadership will be invaluable."
Musat, who has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alberta, is currently President and General Manager of OK Ford Sales in Lac La Biche. He has served on a number of committees, including both the Portage College Business Program Steering Committee and the Portage College Sport Fundraising Committee. As well, Musat is past President of the Lac La Biche and District Chamber of Commerce and was a recipient of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.
