Research Grants
The Post-Secondary Learning Act authorizes Alberta colleges and technical institutes to engage in applied research activities. Advanced Education and Technology is working with Alberta's colleges and technical institutes to increase their research capacity and promote the long-term growth of applied research. The sector has completed an inventory and assessment of current capacity levels and identified areas for future growth.
Under the terms of a block funding agreement with the Alberta Association of Colleges and Technical Institutes (AACTI), Advanced Education and Technology supports projects in five streams: applied research programs and development, faculty and staff enabling projects, community of practices development, faculty mentored student innovation projects, and system capacity building.
