Resources for Post-Secondary Institutions

Advanced Education and Technology provides tools and resources to Alberta's post-secondary institutions to assist them in various ways:

Campus Alberta Planning System (CAPS)

The Campus Alberta Planning System (CAPS) is a members-only online portal designed to facilitate dialogue and information sharing between publicly funded institutions and department staff. In particular, CAPS

  • enables institutions to access provincial, regional, and institutional-level data to support planning and priority setting
  • enables institutions to draft, submit and share work and projects
  • houses reference documents, including manuals for common programs used in accountability reporting
  • provides users with web-based technologies to facilitate dialogue and collaboration
  • acts as a one-stop shop for system stakeholders

Post-secondary institution staff wishing to gain access to CAPS should contact the office of their Vice-President Academic.

Data Collection Applications

Several data collection applications assist institutions and the department in providing timely planning and reporting information to Albertans regarding the post-secondary system. This includes information on programs, learner enrolments, financials and more.
