Chinese Government Scholarships
Each year, the Chinese Government provides a number of scholarships enabling Albertans to study in China. This year, five full and ten partial scholarships are available. Alberta high school graduates, post-secondary students and scholars wishing to participate in Chinese language studies, academic study at the undergraduate or graduate level, or research are all eligible.
The language of instruction is primarily Chinese; however, the program may sponsor and recommend remedial Chinese language studies for applicants who are not applying for the Chinese language study program.
Applications for the 2010 program were due December 7, 2009*
* Recommended applications have been forwarded to the China Scholarship Council for review.
A number of partial scholarships are still available. Applications for the partial scholarships are due March 1, 2010
Applications are now being accepted for a limited number of partial scholarships for the 2010 Chinese Government Scholarship program. Successful applicants will be notified and studies will commence in September 2010.
Note, a new online application component has been added by the China Scholarship Council. It must be filled in by each applicant in addition to the package being sent to Alberta Advanced Education and Technology. The Agency Number for Alberta applicants is 1242.
